Lahore:The Town Planning Wing and the Estate Management Directorate of the Lahore Development Authority Monday demolished as many as 34 illegal structures built along the road leading to the Sherpao Bridge from Mini Market, Gulberg.

The LDA staff razed a number of platforms, ramps and other structures that were illegally constructed in the front of restaurants and shops. All the encroachments were causing impediments to pedestrians, flow of traffic and quick disposal of storm water.

The LDA’s anti-encroachment drive is going on in its housing schemes and private housing schemes to purging them of encroachments. The authority has urged the citizens to voluntarily eliminate all the encroachments without further delay, failing which they will have to bear the demolition charges as well.
