LAHORE: The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) was the earliest residential locality where the administration as well as the schools took initiatives to increase the security of schools situated in the area. The authority increased the number of mobile vans patrolling around the schools, while also ensuring the presence of policemen around the institutions during school timings. The authorities asked the administrations of the schools to ensure the removal of any internal security loopholes. They erected fencing on the walls, increased the height of walls around schools, and covered possible points of entry. Plainclothesmen were also deployed around the schools even during the night. There are seven public and a number of private institutions situated in the DHA, with a number of them providing co-education, and they are considered some of the most elite institutions of the city. staff report
