LAHORE: Prime Minister (PM) Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Monday announced a Rs 100-million grant for the establishment of Aiwan-e-Quaid-e-Azam in the city.
He was addressing the participants of 8th Nazariati Summer School Camp organised by the Nazaria Pakistan Foundation (NPF). More than 268 children of 113 schools took part in the camp.
The PM said Aiwan-e-Quaid-e-Azam would be built in Johar Town and he would soon lay down its foundation stone.
He said the government was focusing on education and it would soon introduce a uniform education policy.
He called on the nation to stay united and follow the footsteps of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal to counter the challenges confronting the country.
The PM urged students to concentrate on their studies and to follow Islamic values to form their character.
Gilani said the Pakistan People’s Party would soon restore the freedom of the media and the judges sacked by President Pervez Musharraf in November 2007.
About price hikes, he said it was an international issue, but added that the government was devising a strategy to tackle it.
NPF Chairman Majeed Nizami thanked the PM for the grant and presented a souvenir to Gilani. The PM also distributed prizes among the participants of the summer camp.
