THE Commercialization Directorate of Town Planning wing of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has recovered Rs 237.62 million annual/permanent commercialization fees during the first half of the current financial year.
This amount is Rs 37.62 million above the target of Rs 400 million for the budget estimates of 2010-2011. The directorate has constituted special teams for recovering outstanding amounts from defaulters.
Meanwhile, City District Government has handed over building control of four important roads of the provincial metropolis to the Lahore Development Authority which will now be responsible for sanctioning building plans, checking of construction activities, removal of encroachments as well as for entertaining requests for change of land use etc.
These roads include Jail Road starting from Qurtaba Chowk (Mozang Chungi) up to Sherpao Bridge, Ferozepur Road starting from Qurtaba Chowk (Mozang Chungi) up to Suai Aasil, UBD Canal Road starting from Wahga to boundary of Lahore District and Raiwind Road starting from Thokar Niaz Baig Chowk to boundary of Lahore District.
