LAHORE: The residents of Multan Road have alleged that the Punjab government has illegally acquired their lands and has refused to pay them the market price.

Addressing a press conference at the Lahore Press Club on Sunday, the residents of Multan Road, including Muhammad Yasin, Jameela, Haji M Afzal and Yasin Khan, demanded that the Punjab chief minister should pay them the actual market price of their lands.

They were of the view that if the government failed to do justice, they would launch demonstrations in front of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat and the Chief Minister’s House. The locals of Multan Road further alleged that the officials of the Punjab government had demolished their houses in the name of widening the Multan Road.

They added that the Lahore Development Authority had promised to give them the full price of their land but now after demolishing their homes they had refused to do so.
