ISLAMABAD: Northern side of the Faisal Avenue flyover will be opened to traffic on Monday (March 23), said Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Tariq Mehmood on Thursday.
He also said the opening of the flyover’s southern side to traffic was likely by the end of March.
The CDA chairman visited the flyover to inspect work on it. Officials of the CDA’s Environment Wing briefed him on landscaping and beautification of the flyover.
Mehmood asked them to ensure speedy landscaping on all triangles of the flyover and plantation of saplings like that of Amaltas and Jacranda there. He also ordered installation of a fountain at the site.
The CDA chairman expressed satisfaction at the pace of work on the project. He said the flyover would ensure smooth flow of traffic in the busy locality.
He asked respective authorities to use modern technology for re-transplantation of grownup trees from the right-of-way of 11th Avenue to the flyover.
Later, he paid a visit to newly established graveyard in Sector H-11having an area of 80 acres.
He also inspected Janazagah, place of ablution and parking area and directed the department concerned to fill the vacant spaces with suitable trees and plants. He asked the officials to pay attention to sanitation work and lights at graveyard.
