Chief Secretary Javed Mehmood had directed removal of reasons behind delay in construction Lahore Ring Road (LRR), so that the construction work could be re-started without further delay.

He issued these instructions while presiding over a meeting to review the pace of construction work of the LRR project here Wednesday. Secretary Works and Communication, Project Director LRR, Secretary Settlement Board of Revenue and others attended the meeting. The CS said the project’s construction cost had increased because of its delay. He directed completion of the project as earlier as possible in order to avoid further increase in its cost.

He also directed to remove all technical reasons, which caused delay in the completion of the project.

The meeting was informed that 30 per cent construction work of 43 kilometres long first phase of the project had been completed. Moreover, in the first phase, there were total 18 packages, out of which tenders were awarded for 12 packages and construction work on these packages was under process.
