Karachi—Federal Minister for Communications Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan Khalil has said that 13 ongoing projects in Sindh costing Rs 62 billion which are being executed by the National Highway Authority (NHA), would be completed by April 2012.
He expressed these views while talking to media persons prior to his departure from Karachi for Islamabad on Saturday. The Federal Communications Minister had a week-long visit to Sindh.Arbab Alamgir Khan said that all resources are being employed to ensure timely completion of all projects including Lyari Expressway and Ratodero-Sehwan Road.
The Minister said that he visited Sindh on the directive of President Asif Ali Zardari.
He said he has personally reviewed all these projects and directed the contractors to complete all projects in accordance with international standards. Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan said that trauma centres set up along the Motorways are now running successfully and now the Authority intends to expand the range of these trauma centres.
The Minister said that the Motorway Police has earned an outstanding place among the Motorway police of other countries due to its performance and integrity.
He said that we are working hard to improve the performance of other departments under the Ministry of Communications as well, so that these can become a role model for other entities.
