LAHORE: The development work on 100km Sialkot-Lahore motorway costing Rs 40 billion will be initiated in June this year, official sources told APP on Friday.

Sources said that the motorway would have six lanes, seven interchanges, eight flyovers and 40 bridges. They said that it would reduce the travelling time between Sialkot-Lahore from two hours to 45 minutes. They said that new industrial estates would be developed near Sambrial, Gujranwala and Muridke interchanges.

“Sialkot Engineering University, in collaboration with Swedish Royal Institute of Technology, will also be established along the new motorway, besides a sports city, IT Park and a lake city, they added.
