ISLAMABAD – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is all set to celebrate tree plantation day on February 24. The CDA would plant 0.5 million saplings during the upcoming spring season in continuation of its “Clean and Green Islamabad” campaign launched in Monsoon 2008, according to a press statement issued on Monday.

Chairman CDA Imtiaz Inayat Elahi while presiding over a special meeting said comprehensive arrangements had been made to increase public participation in the tree plantation drive. Elahi said the civic body was focusing on planting indigenous species and strict monitoring of the saplings would be carried out to ensure their maximum survival.
