The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to cancel the contract of a firm that is carrying out development work in I-15 sector and has re-invited tenders for the project.
Sources said the CDA had given the Rs 1.1 billion contract to the construction company in March, but it failed to meet any of the project”s deadlines during the past seven months. They said that plot owners in the sector had protested against the lack of progress in the construction project, adding that the authority”s reputation had also suffered due to the delays.
The CDA chairman has constituted a committee consisting of members from the engineering, planning and estate management wings and the audit and accounts director to review the issue and decide how much contract amount would be paid to the company. The firm, however, has demanded payment of all construction costs.
