ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will construct three pedestrian bridges on Islamabad Expressway to facilitate the people in crossing the road. According to a press statement issued on Wednesday, the decision was taken in a meeting presided over by CDA Chairman Tariq Mehmood Khan. CDA member engineering, director general works and other senior officials attended the meeting. Khan asked the officials to construct the pedestrian bridges at Kuri Raod bus station, Zia Masjid and Iqbal Town and initiate the construction work on urgent basis to avoid road accidents. He directed the department concerned to take safety measures within 10 days and install cat eyes signboards and marking for the guidance of pedestrians. He also asked the Islamabad traffic police to control speeding and install speed cameras on the road. staff report
