CDA gets 400 kanals land vacated on 2nd day of operation
ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) continued operation against illegal occupants of its land in different areas of the federal capital and got vacated over 400 kanals of land from adverse possession on Tuesday.
CDA Enforcement teams in collaboration with ICT administration and police carried out the operation in Lakhwal, Banni Gala, Malpur and Noorpur Shahan and demolished encroachments in the form of fencing on CDA land near the houses. CDA also demolished two roads in the same vicinity. Director Enforcement Muhammad Ramzan Joya led the operation.
Talking to a delegation of the federal capital residents and affectees of the land acquired by the authority, CDA Chairman Imtiaz Inayat Elahi reiterated that CDA would continue operation to get vacated CDA land from illegal occupants. The genuine complaints of people in this regard would be taken care of, he said, adding, the operation would be across the board and no concession would be given to anyone.
He said CDA was setting up pickets in the area after the getting possession of the land. He said Supreme Court (SC) was being kept informed about the progress in this connection. He said Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration and police were fully cooperating with CDA for getting back the CDA land from the illegal occupants. He said a coordination committee, comprising representatives of ICT Administration, police and CDA, was effectively monitoring the operation.
He said the city development in a planned manner was basic responsibility of the authority and CDA would start development activities after getting the CDA land released from the adverse possession.
He said they had given prior notice to all illegal occupants through national media to vacate CDA land in their possession in their own interest. Elahi said he would appeal to the people who are in possession of CDA acquired land to extend cooperation and vacate the land to prevent any untoward incident due to confrontation with CDA teams, which are in the field to get the possession of the acquired land.
