A new generation of modern Bachat Bazaar which is also the biggest in the metropolis has been built in DHA Phase-VIII which will soon be opened for shopping to the general public. Administrator DHA Brig Khalid Tirmizi visited the newly constructed Bazaar complex to inspect the infrastructure work of the setup.
Brig Tirmizi speaking on the occasion said that DHA was committed to provide best living facilities to its residents in an aesthetically vibrant environment. He added that the new Bazaar complex would provide a good shopping arena to the residents to buy the items of daily domestic use on every Sunday and Wednesday.
The new Bachat Bazaar located in Sector E of DHA Phase-VIII is spread over an area of approx 25.5 acres which is almost double the area of the old Sunday Bazaar. The roof top of Bazaar area is covered with fiber glass and there are 12 feet pathways with colourful tiles between the sheds. 1850 elegantly designed stalls with covered tops will be setup in the Bazaar which is double the number of stalls present in the existing DHA Sunday Bazaar.
A significant feature of the Bachat Bazaar is the provision of comfortable rest areas with 18 large size tastefully coloured fiber glass sheds and 200 benches to sit and relax. A Food Court and Children Playing Area are also part of the new complex.
Public toilet facility has been kept in the Bazaar and there are 10 toilet blocks having four toilets each. Two spacious properly developed parking areas have also been provided for secure and easy parking of vehicles. Roads leading to new Bazaar Area have been reconstructed and carpeted which include Kh-e-Shujaat, 26th Street and Road Loop including Kh-e-Babar. Street Lights have been installed in the area and a Vigilance Hut for monitoring/security purpose has also been established. Leading national and multi national franchise will also establish their sale points/outlets at the venue to create shopping attraction for the public.
Administrator DHA Brig Tirmizi directed the people concerned to complete the left over renovation work of the Bazaar at the earliest. He asked the DHA Services and Contractors to ensure high quality ambience, hygiene and security in Bachat Bazaar to make it one of the best house hold shopping centre of the metropolis.
