Karachi, Feb 14: DHA City Karachi (DCK), an upcoming residential cum commercial project on Super Highway after completion of its master plan is all set to graduate from planning to development on ground stage. Tenders for major development works under the immediate development plan have mostly been awarded, mobilization of contractors to the project site has started and the construction/development process of the project is ready to take off.
Administrator Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Brig Aamer Raza Qureshi visited the project site this morning to review DCK development plans on ground. He was briefed by Proj Dir DCK and Project Consultant about the construction and designing details of seven lanes DCK Entrance Gate, adjacent Theme Park and Outlet Mall being built astride Super Highway. He was also informed about the engineering/construction details of DCK Boundary Wall, Security Towers, DCK Information Centre, DCK Office/Staff Accommodation projects; all being built in two years to make DCK a livable entity.
Administrator announced on the occasion that the formal Ground Breaking Ceremony of DCK project will be held in the third week of February’ 2012 that will set the pace for development of first planned, sustainable and green city of Pakistan. He gave necessary instructions on the development projects being initiated to make them viable and versatile in nature.
Administrator was informed that the boring work for exploration of water on ground was going on successfully and the results were quite encouraging. There is abundance of drinking quality underground water in DCK sufficient to cater for future requirements uptil 2020.
The project is being developed in the backdrop of natural landscaping and there was plenty of wind and sunshine available in the spacious open area of DCK for production/development of renewable solar/wind energy.
The Administrator was also shown the planned projects of road network, sector, parks and amenities development being initiated under the short term development plan to be completed in 3-4 years so that people start living in the area.
Proj Dir DCK, Brig (R) Muhammad Rafique disclosed that balloting of DCK plots would be held very soon to allot plots numbers to the allotees who have paid up-to-date installments of their plots. He also said that 10% discount in the price of plots would be given to all those allotees who will pay all the plot installments in lump sum at a time.
Brig Aamer Raza asked the consultants, contractors and DCK staff to leave no stone un-turned to develop the new remarkable city, unique of its kind, in a most professional manner and to maintain the reputation of DHA as a trendsetter in the field of housing and community living.
