Ground breaking ceremony held on 18 May, 2020 for Firdous Market Underpass. According to alternate route master plan, road will remain close from Center point to Jinnah Fly over for all types of traffic. Traffic from DHA and Cavelry Ground can use Shami Road, Sherpao Bridge and Jail Road. Traffic from DHA can also use Qainchi Bridge and Ferozpur road via Walton Road. Traffic going towards Cavelry Ground and Defence from Kalma Chowk & Barkat Market can use Sherpao Bridge via Main Boulevard Gulberg.
After construction of this underpass a lot of traffic load will be reduce for Jinnah Flyover, Cavelry Ground and Defence all phases.
