ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court here on Monday ordered the authorities concerned of the Capital Development Authority to inspect alleged land encroachment by Zeb Gohar, wife of former National Assembly speaker, in Islamabad’s Sector F-8/1 and submit a report within three days.
The single bench of Justice Mohammad Munir Paracha issued the directive on an appeal filed by Zubaida Shair Mohammad, a resident of Sector F-8/1, through Kowkab Iqbal advocate, and adjourned the hearing till March 2. Kowak Iqbal apprised the court that despite the IHC’s order of June 19, 2008, in which the CDA was directed to demolish all the illegal construction by the respondent, more land had been encroached upon adjacent to her house. The counsel said the CDA only allowed residents to plant flowers on the vacant green plots around the area and any encroachment was against its laws.
