LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif directed the authorities on Friday to employ all available resources to complete the land record computerisation project without further delay. Addressing a meeting to review the ‘Land Record Management and Information System Project’ aimed at computerising revenue records of the province, Shahbaz said that feasible recommendations on the project should be submitted to him within the “next few daysâ€. The chief minister said the land record computerisation project had been delayed, and it was now the responsibility of the government to complete the programme in a transparent manner as early as possible, to minimise the role of patwaris. He said further delay should be prevented to eliminate the chances of forgery in the registration of property. He said an e-governance programme was among the priorities of the Punjab government, to improve the performance of departments. He said that 60,000 computers were being provided for computer labs at schools at a cost of Rs 5 billion.
