LAHORE: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) director general (DG) Muhammad Arif Khan has issued orders for the auditing of almost 200 registered private housing schemes under the LDA to curb irregularities.
A statement issued on Thursday said the DG had formed a special audit team consisting of LDA officials from the Metropolitan Planning, Town Planning and Revenue sections. The statement said the DG came to know that development work in a few housing schemes approved by the LDA was not being carried out according to the schedule.
He had also received complaints that the plots reserved for public parks were being used for commercial and residential purposes. He was informed that the owners of some schemes were selling the plots that were handed over to the LDA for guarantee purposes, the statement said.
“The DG has directed the team to complete its inquiry on a priority basis and present the report to him,” it said. staff report
