Tram project is an essential component in creating a fully integrated system for Dubai.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai is on track with its light rail project, linking the Mall of the Emirates and Dubai Marina via Al Sufouh. This is the first phase of a project slated to open in 2012. The full tram project will link Dubai Marina with Jumeirah Beach Road by 2014.

The project is vital to linking the Marina area with key Metro stations and will be an essential component in creating a fully integrated public transport system. With the Dubai Metro already having a ridership of 140,000 passengers per day on an average, the light rail project will ensure that the Metro system is fully utilised and its capacity enhanced even further.

With the Green Line to come on stream before 2012, all of Dubai will be linked together using buses, light rail and Metro in an environmentally friendly manner.

The RTA is servicing Dubai with vision and pride.
