RAWALPINDI: Punjab Livestock and Dairy Development Secretary Jahanzeb Khan on Tuesday ordered inquiry into the alleged illegal sale of 60 kanals government land in Chakwal by patwaris.
During the secretary visit to Chakwal along with senior officials, locals alleged some patwaris were selling plots on 60 kanals government land in the city outskirts by receiving Rs 100 stamp papers.
The secretary also visited District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, Chakwal, and expressed satisfaction at patient care. He later went to nearby drugstores and ordered action against them for failing to produce record about medicine purchase and expiry date.
Khan also visited Government Boys Degree College and ordered the administration to shift library to a new building and clear playground of wild bushes and trees.
During a visit to Government Girls Degree College, he ordered completion of new block construction by end of current month and early replacement of furniture.
He also issued directions for construction of a new block at Government Girls High School, Mohallah Ghosia in view of high enrollment of students.
The Livestock Secretary directed the tehsil municipal administration (TMA) to clear the city roads and bazaars of encroachments and regular monitoring to prevent their recurrence.
Also on Tuesday, Punjab Communication and Works Secretary Fawad Hassan Fawad visited highways in tehsil and directed respective departments to repair dilapidated roads and complete work on road projects on time.
