KARACHI: Defence Housing Authority (DHA) launched DHA City Karachi (DCK) at the project’s site on Super Highway amid a graceful groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday.
Commander 5 Corps Lt-Gen Muhammad Zaheer-ul-Islam inaugurated the development activities by unveiling the plaque. Speaking on the occasion, he termed the occasion as historic and hailed the services of DHA stating that it was proving itself as a trendsetter in the field of housing and development.
He said that with the launch of DCK project, a number of business and economic opportunities would be generated which would give a significant boost to the local economy. He was of the view that DCK was a versatile project and had tremendous potential to provide an emblem of modern, secure and comfortable living environment to residents.
Talking about the project, DHA Administrator Aamer Raza Qureshi said work on 13 projects, including construction of DCK boundary wall, entrance gate, security towers, arterial roads, composite offices/accommodation complex and information centre, with cost of Rs 1 billion would be completed within a year under the immediate development plan.
