LAHORE – Staff of the Lahore Development Authority’s Directorate of Estate Management retrieved a piece of state land from encroachers in Johar Town on Friday.
The two-kanal commercial plot (No 366-C-1 Johar Town) is situated on PIA Housing Society Road wherein the grabbers had set up auction house for furniture goods. Moreover, the adjacent nine-feet wide road had also been encroached and included in the auction house. The LDA staff also got cleared the land for road and handed it over to the Engineering Wing for constructing a nettled road there. Construction of boundary wall had also been started at the site for safeguarding it against future grabbing. The LDA has decided to sale the plot through open auction.
Furthermore, the LDA teams pulled down 300 ramps, 12 shops, 125 shades and removed 150 signboards with shifting 6 truckloads of items lifted as encroachments from 3 kilometre area of Ghazi Chouk to Depot Chouk Township.
On the 40th day of the drive, the anti-encroachment teams of different towns collectively pulled down 559 ramps, 16 shops.
